Top FIVE: Menswear Fall 2012

Hundreds of designers, Five favorites, One opinion! I wasn't very impressed with Fall/Winter 2012 as a whole. I fully understand it must be very difficult to design clothes for men that are not only show-able but also sell-able. But one must understand that there's only so many grey suits a man can own. How many neutral pants can one purchase? If it's classic, make it sharp! If it's trendy, go all the way! My Top Five menswear collections walked to the edge but never went over. #5 Bottega Veneta
Classic fabrics, classic colors, high tech undertones, & major tailoring collided at Bottega. I'm imagining pairing the blazers with a classic white tee & cordovan shoes. All the jackets were charge card worthy & will look just as good 10 years later. The contrast of matte, shine, and line made a dark collection seem alive!

 #4 VERSACE
Versace always has to be the loudest in the room. Neon colored fur trimmed jackets. Chains & crystal adorned leather & denim. There was even this over saturated 90's floral pattern, that would look great broken up with dark jeans. Nike foamposites would look great with everything. A snap back hat should be the cherry on top.

#3 Moncler Gamme Bleu
The key with this collection is to break the pieces up in your mind. Only then will you see the quality of the cardigans & sweaters. Only then will you know the power quilted shorts could have on your current wardrobe. It's a masculine collection without being macho or stuffy! My favorite piece is the cream patchwork jacket shown above.

#2 John Bartlett
I haven't been this excited about stripes since I was in grade school. This collection had something for everyone. Even the corner boys could find something in this Nautical themed collection. Things I have seen a million times looked new & fresh again. I loved the bold   quad stripes on the winter white. Who needs trendy when classic looks this hip!

#1 Calvin Klein
By far my favorite collection of the season. All I could think about was fresh buttered colored Timberland boots. This is minimalism at its best. There was an understated luxury, yet it maintained a athletic spirit throughout. Italo Zucchelli broke all age barriers with these clothes because my dad would wear everything too. Sometimes the simplest collections are the best.
